Some dark storm clouds just overhead seemed to perfectly suit the gloomy and dark outlook of Merlot’s castle, situated west of Tao Village and known very well for its hospitality. “Do we really have to go in that blasted place?” Remington asked Amelia, holding her hand as would a child.

“For the fourth time, yes Remington. We do have to go in there.” Amelia answered, giving Remington’s hand a calming squeeze. “We just go in there, find that kid, and get out. Simple as that.” Remington nodded in comprehension, though he still had fear showing in his eyes, as Amelia could tell. “And for god sake Remington, make sure it’s the right Pokemon that we find. Buneary Got it?” Remington nodded again, this time with a little more confidence. With that, Amelia lead the childish Munchlax inside the open doors, looking around corners for signs of any Pokemon; for the moment, they were alone.

Remington looked around at all of the regal decorations that were placed all about the halls - for being such a creepy and frightening place, even though the multitudes of Tao had inhabited its halls for a short time after the Sorbet disaster, the castle was well furnished. “Hey,” Remington said “this reminds me of the time that we went exploring, and we checked out that old castle, and...”

“Is now really the best time to be talking about this?” Amelia interrupted, edging up to a wall and carefully glancing around the corner for any trouble.

“Well... it just reminds me. You remember that overgrown castle? And there was a rebel hiding in it, and...” Amelia covered Remington’s mouth with her hand suddenly. The Munchlax looked at her to see a scowling and very disapproving face. Remington nodded in comprehension and stayed quiet as they went past the corner into another hall. Slowly but surely they weaved their way through all the halls, searching every nook and cranny they could risk, while at the same time avoiding all the guards.

That is, until they were taken by surprise in the castle gardens. “Hey!” someone shouted at them as they were sneaking out of the garden. Remington and Amelia turned around slowly to see a Roselia, a shiny looking one with a black and a light pink flower at that, glaring at them rather angrily. “What do you two think you’re doing?” he asked them. He pointed at Remington and said “You’re supposed to be on the other side of the garden modeling for me!” Then he pointed at Amelia and added “you’re supposed to be in the kitchen helping Amanda.”

“I am?” Amelia asked, giving a worried look at Remington. “Oh, uhh... oh ya, now I remember.” She replied with as much confidence as she could muster. “Sorry... where is it again?” The Roselia sighed in annoyance and slammed his rose hand into his forehead and pointed out a hallway on the opposite side of the garden. Amelia nodded and whispered “good luck” to Remington before walking off. Remington looked awkwardly at the Roselia. “So... what am I modeling for?”

    ---------------------------

Amelia walked into a rather well-equipped-looking kitchen where a Mawile in a hat and a Snivy in a maid’s dress were looking inside a pot. As she approached them, the Mawile groaned at the Snivy over some shortfall in her cooking that she had committed. "It says add the eggs first, you moron!" The Mawile shouted with a clear lack of patience. If you do that, it'll taste like shit, and you know it." The Mawile leaned her forehead on the brim of the pot, sighing in agony.

"What's up?" Amelia asked, hesitant to enter te conversation that the Mawile was carrying. As it turned its head around, Amelia recognized the figure. "Oh wait, you're Michelle! I didn't recognize you in that hat. Team Asking for Trouble, right?"

"No duh." Michelle replied, lacking patience to spare for Amelia as well "and I know you too; Amelia, Team Freedom, all that crap. I'm busy here, ya know. Go away." She said dismissively.

Amelia only chuckled and commented by saying "Rude." and approaching the pot. "I'm just here to help. Is there a recipe for this soup?" Michelle handed Amelia a long sheat of paper with several recipes, one of them for soup, and Amelia gave them a read. "It sounds simple enough, from what i'm getting here. All soup usually is would be throwing everything into a pot to boil. If it's got timings for when to put stuff in though, and I guess this does,"

"This nerd keeps throwing stuff in too early!" Michelle complained, interrupting Amelia as she pointed out the Snivy who was now mincing some greens.

"Does it really matter when I put it all in?" The Snivy asked in counter-argument.

"It does if it's freaking on the damn recipe!"

"Alright, everyone shut up!" Amelia shouted, silencing everyone. "Jeeze, how can I think if everyone's just screaming at each other?" Amelia went to open a few cabinets to figure out the kitchen's contents when she met a startling surprise that made her scream and jump back.

"You were saying?" Michelle asked, snickering at the irony."

    "good lords... the Buneary!"

"Buneary?" Michelle looked in the cabinet to see a small Buneary child wearing a little maid dress. "Well what the hell are you doing in there?"

"Help me..." The Buneary child whispered. "I'm trapped in this castle... help me!"

"This kid is why I came to the castle in the first place." Amelia told Michelle. She got up and crawled over to the cabinet. "You'll be fine, but stay in here until I tell you to, ok?" The Buneary nodded. "Good. These Pokes clearly need my help." Amelia closed the cabinet and stood up. "So, gonna cook some shit! Let's do this!"

Michelle groaned and pressed her hand to her forehead; this Mawile was just weird.

    ------------

As the hours went by, Amelia and Michelle grew more tolerant of each other, to the point of at least liking each other somewhat, mot friends but somewhat at least. The meals got done and Amelia and Michelle exchanged their thanks before splitting up outside the castle. Amelua's delivery of the child was swift, as she needed to return to the castle to find Remington.

Within the halls once more, Amelia rushed off to find the Munchlax, and located him at the edge of the garden, inspecting the beautiful shrubbery. "There you are!"  Amelia exclaimed, grabbing hi attention. "Where were you?"

"I looked for the kid, gave up, and came here to wait for you." Remington explained. "You're better at this than I. Where should we look first?"

"I already found him and got him out." Amelia explained. "We're done here."

"Oh really?" Remington beamed at Amelia, giving her a quick hug that she couldn't avoid. "That's so awesome! Let's... let's eave, actually. I don't like this place."

"Me neither." Amelia took hold of Remington's hand and they started to proceed out of the castle before Amelia asked "What did you model for, anyway?"

    "Huh?"

"You were a hedge trimmer model, or something. Did you do anything special?"

"Well..." remington whispered into Amelia's ear something that made her laugh: A Munchlax fighting back a Ho-oh with a sword. "

“If Mike ever comes back, he's gonna hate you forever." Amelia replied with a laugh.

    "I know." Remington chuckled.
