Chapter 6 ~ Frigus Triangulum

   "Let me go you psychotic poultry! Do you know who I am!? I'm Amelia Tyrin Mawile! I'll tear you to pieces!" Amelia was yelling. She had been yelling for so long during the flight, however, that the Skarmory had effectively tuned her out. He finally dropped her in the middle of a snowy field filled with many ice type Pokemon guarding strange ice blocks in the middle of the Whispering Peaks. "Who are you?" Amelia asked forcefully.
   "I'm Shiv." The Skarmory answered. "And you're the newest addition to my collection." Shiv said. Amelia looked around to find that the ice blocks contained Pokemon.
   "Wa...What is this?" Amelia asked, a little frightened.
   "This is me, freezing you solid." Shiv answered.
   Amelia got mad. "Fat chance!" Amelia yelled before shooting Dark Pulse. Shiv didn't even need to move to avoid it.
   "And what was the point of that?" Shiv asked. Amelia simply made a twirling motion with her finger. Shiv got suspicious and turned around to see what she was referring to, only to get bit on the head with ViceGrip a moment later. "AHHH!!" Shiv screamed. After a little struggling, Shiv managed to get a hold of Amelia with his wings and threw her into an ice block. "Nice try." Shiv said.
   "Well, I wasn't aiming at you, but that shot did have a target." Amelia responded. A moment later, Shiv got hit in the side with a Flame Burst.
   "What!?" Shiv looked to see that it was the Stunky he had frozen earlier. "Enough!" Shiv yelled. He rang the Ice Triangle, and suddenly all the ice types that were watching converged on them.

   The path had led the group a good distance away from the valley before a large hailstorm suddenly kicked in, and the group had to take shelter under a shelf of rocks. "Oh, brilliant." Remington commented.
   "Anyone know Sunny Day?" Huey asked. No one said anything. Without any warning, a ball of ice suddenly blasted Pyren in the side and knocked him into the rock face. Everyone looked to see a hailstorm Castform; one that was most certainly possessed by Shiv.
   "Blast that thing! Blast it!" Felicity yelled.
   Remington quickly used Metronome and shot the attack at the Castform. It ended up being Attract, and the Castform turned out to be female. The Castform, along with the hailstorm, calmed down, and the Castform approached the group. "Oh Arceus help me..." Remington said.
   "I'm sorry I attacked you..." the Castform said to Remington in a lusty voice. "Master Shiv told me to attack any Pokemon he didn't have under his control..."
   "Uhh...Can you take us to him?" Huey asked.
   The Castform didn't make any response. "Can you take us to Shiv?" Remington asked.
   "I can get you close to him..." The Castform said. The whole group waited for a moment. "Uhh...We're kinda in a rush." Remington said.
   "OK..." The Castform said before starting off, with the group following.
   "Amelia's gonna kill me..." Remington muttered. Hardly a moment after Remington said that, someone blasted Icy Wind at the group. Everyone looked to see that it was a Glaceon. "Get him!" Remington yelled.
   Strum made the first move, charging right at the Glaceon with Thunderpunch. The Glaceon dodged, however, but Jenova quickly launched Leaf Blade, which did manage to make contact. Remington made the next move, quickly Tackling the Glaceon, then jumping off and shooting Flamethrower at the Glaceon. The Glaceon made a fast enough recovery to avoid the attack. A moment later, however, the ground beneath the Glaceon caved in and Felicity quickly bit the Glaceon in the stomach. The Glaceon cried in pain, but quickly broke away from the attack and used Echoed Voice.
   For some reason, however, the Glaceon intentionally aimed at the sky. After it had done so, the Glaceon ran away. "What was that about?" Zhu asked no one in particular.
   "I got a bad feeling about this..." Rose muttered. A few moments later, her hunch proved to be correct when at least a dozen Ice type attacks were launched at the entire group from all sides.
   Little did anyone know, the Castform from before was still under Attract's power. The Castform nudged Remington when he didn't realize that it was there. Remington turned to the Castform. "Can you use Sunny Day?" Remington asked the Castform. The Castform simply backed off and used Rain Dance instead. The light hail then turned into a genuine rainstorm. "Close enough." Remington said.
   The Ice types no longer had the advantage. Everyone started spotting Pokemon and picked targets. Most of them didn't seem to be villagers, so everyone went all out. Eventually, Chill made his way to Strum. "Dude! You know Giga Impact! Can you break a hole through them?" Chill asked Strum.
   "Oh, right." Strum said. He charged Giga Impact and charged right down the path they were originally following. He ended up blasting his way through several ice types, but the path was finally clear. Everyone charged down the path, avoiding attacks along the way. Felicity put the recovering Strum on her back.
   Even after they got out of the circle, they were still taking hits as they ran. "This is not going well!" Pyren yelled to Remington as he stopped for a moment to shoot a Fire Blast at the perusing Ice types.
   "You kidding?" Remington asked him. "These are the odds that I work best with." Remington noticed that they were about to pass another small shelf of rocks, and that on them was a good amount of snow. Closer observation revealed that the trees made the rock shelf the only fast way down the path they were following. Remington smiled and readied Psychic. As the group passed, Remington used the attack to pull on the snow on the cliff, effectively bringing it down between the pursuing Ice types and the group.
   "Nice move..." Remington heard the Castform say.
   'Is it still under Attract?' Remington thought. Even if it wasn't, it was in it's rain form right now, so they had an OK chance if the rain kept up. Remington used Psychic to get his bearings as the group ran, and realized where they were. "Guys! Shiv's hideout is just up ahead!" Remington told everyone.
   "Perfect!" Summer said. He pulled on his Flygoggles without stopping. "Time to teach that meanie a lesson!"
   Remington smiled and looked at Jenova. "Kid's a fast learner." Remington told her.
   "Just keep running. They could catch up." Jenova said.

   Sooner or later, Remingon successfully led the group to a small cliff, from which they could see a small field; most likely where the hostages were being kept. Everyone noticed a group of ice blocks and saw that Pokemon were in them. Unfortunately, it turned out to be under heavy guard by ice types of all forms. "He has been busy." Strum commented.
   "You're welcome." The Castform said before flying off.
   The Attract had somehow lasted them the whole trek, but the rain had worn off and the Castform was back in it's hail form. Everyone waited till it was gone before saying anything. "I give her five minuets before Attract finally wears off." Jenova commented. That was five minuets that they had before the Castform might try and warn Shiv of them being there. Everyone looked at the field and compared the number of ice types to their numbers. "There's too many of them." Jenova said.
   "Not a problem." Pyren said. "Can I borrow your staff?" He asked Master Shao.
   "Uhh...Sure?" Master Shao said in a confused tone as he handed Pyren his staff.
   "Thanks." Pyren said. Pyren took the staff and held it out in front on him. Within moments, a Fire Blast started charging on top of the staff.
   "Oh, I see." Master Shao said. "Impressive, but won't that reveal that we're here?" Pyren ignored him and aimed the staff at a obtusely angled, moderately sized cliff nearby, under which a bunch of ice type Pokemon were doing some sort of training. He fired the Fire Blast, and on impact, all the snow on the nearby cliff came crashing down.
   "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Barkley yelled.
   "Creating a distraction." Pyren explained, handing Master Shao his staff. "They're ice types. They'll be fine." Pyren pointed to the situation. "See?"
   Everyone looked to see that most of the guards were now at the snow mound, working on digging their friends out. "Oh." Barkley said. Everyone took advantage of the situation and ran down the small cliff to ground level and made a run for the hostages. They were stopped, however, when Shiv suddenly landed right in between them. "Not on your lives." Shiv said. He used Flash, effectively blinding the group, save for Chill.
   "I should have known it wouldn't be that easy." Chill said as he saw the remaining ice types surround them.
   "Nonsense." Remington said, trying to keep his eyes closed. "This is just the kind of situation I work best in." Eyes closed, Remington used Psychic and figured out where everything was. He started levitating all the ice types still guarding the hostages and threw them all at Shiv. Shiv, however, got out of the way just in time, and started flying circles around everyone, who were now regaining their eyesight.
   Just in time too, because Shiv was shooting Flash Cannons at everyone. Pyren, Strum, and Zhu were the first to realize this, and started deflecting the Flash Cannons away from the others. Meanwhile, Remington and Rose were shooting Flamethrowers and String Shots at Shiv, effectively preoccupying him. "Go for it guys!" Remington told Chill and Pyren. They got outside Shiv's range of sight. When he got right above them, they both jumped up with Tail Slap and Mach Punch. Shiv was quicker, however, and was able to grab them with his talons and Drill Peck them. Remington shot a Flamethrower at Shiv, but he quickly threw Chill and Pyren in it's path. Remington was expecting this, however, and rerouted the attack with Psychic, causing it to split, go around them, reform, and hit Shiv directly.
   "ARGH!" Shiv yelled.
   Chill tumbled on the ground, got up, and realized what happened. "Nice job dude!" Chill yelled to Remington. A moment later, however, Chill got tripped up by Steel Wing. Now in everyone's attention, Shiv flew up high and used Flash, blinding everyone again. Remington, however, was expecting this and had already charged Psychic. Blind, but aware of the world around him, Remington used Psychic on himself and launched himself right up to Shiv. Shiv moved out of the way, but as he did, Remington shot him with a Flamethrower.
   "RAAAHHH!!" Shiv screamed as he fell. This was enough for Pyren to figure out where he was. From his blind spot, Pyren was able to shoot a Fire Blast right at Shiv. It made direct contact, and effectively burned him. Jenova quickly regained her eyesight and shot a Leaf Storm at Shiv, which dug into his burns. "RAAAHHH!!" Shiv yelled again.

   Dyrus walked into the village to find it abandoned. "What the heck?" Dyrus asked himself. A quick inspection of the village proved it to be abandoned. "They must be in the Whispering Peaks." Dyrus told himself before taking off again, ignoring the throbbing pain his wings were causing him.

   Shiv was laying on the ground now, seeming faint. Everyone approached him carefully. Chill walked right up to him. "I'll be taking that." Chill said, reaching for the Icicle Triangle around Shiv's neck. Suddenly, however, Shiv opened his eye and knocked Chill's shades off, then used Flash, blinding everyone, including Chill. Shiv put some distance between himself and the others and rung the Icicle Triangle, making all the ice type Pokemon who had been knocked out earlier got up and surrounded them.
   "Cheat." Remington said to himself as his eyesight came back to him. Then he had a thought. "Wait a sec...Of course!" Remington yelled. He turned his attention back to Shiv. "Alright, birdbrain. I'll play your game." He said to Shiv. Remington turned to Chill. "Can you shoot a Blizzard at him?" Remington asked Chill.
   "Dude! He'll just throw it back at us!" Chill yelled.
   "Just do it! I have an idea." Remington said.
   Chill thought about it for a moment, and decided to give it a shot. Chill shot a Blizzard at Shiv. "Bad move, rat." Shiv said. He played the triangle and the attack turned around back at the group.
   "Gotcha." Remington said to himself. He used Psychic, and captured the Blizzard in his psychic grasp. Remington spun the Blizzard around and back at Shiv.
   "What!?" Shiv yelled before throwing the Blizzard back at Remington. Remington did the same thing.
   "What are you all staring at!?" Remington yelled at the others. "He's occupied! Take care of the ice types and help the others!"
